JOB SUMMARY: Provide multi-tiered mental health services for students using a trauma-informed approach. Work collaboratively with the building administrator, social emotional learning team, teachers, and other building professionals to proactively address the mental health needs of general education students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization. Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time
Provide mental health services and social emotional learning (particularly Tier II and III interventions), including services and supports for students identified as experiencing social/emotional challenges.
Daily 25%
Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student mental health needs.
Daily 10%
Serve as part of the safety response team for student behavior needs and safety assessments (such as suicide risk reviews and threat assessments).
Daily 10%
Partner with teachers to implement Tier I Social-Emotional Learning in classrooms.
Weekly 10%
Serve on a leadership team for implementation of Trauma-Informed/Equity-Focused Practices.
Monthly 10%
Support implementation and data analysis of district universal social/emotional screening tool to identify students at risk of social/emotional challenges.
Biannually 10%
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

- Work closely with families to identify unmet needs that may interfere with a student’s learning, such as basic needs (housing, food, medical care, etc.), mental health needs, and learning needs and support families in connecting with appropriate community resources. Daily 10%

- N/A
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Master's degree in school psychology, school counseling, social work, or similar field
- One (1) year of related professional work experience
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider (SSP) license
- Ability to work collaboratively with and engage in active participation with teachers, teaching assistants, mental health professionals, and other educational professionals to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students
- Medium work strength level (lifting or carrying 50 pounds)
- Works both indoors and outdoors
- Typically a moderate noise level
- Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization
- Experience working in the public education sector
- Experience in the field of school-based mental health or clinical practice with children/youth
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Bilingual
