- Provides for the delivery and documentation of health service to students under the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act, and district policies and procedures.
- Teams with health care providers, parents and school personnel to identify, develop and implement applicable Plans that mitigate health-related obstacles to learning.
- Coordinates staff development (including but not limited to universal precautions, child abuse prevention, infectious disease guidelines).
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource on health related topics for staff and parents.
- Reports to ACDHS or law enforcement as required.
- Attends school meetings (school, nurse and district.)
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma with a nursing program completion certificate
- One (1) year of professional work experience within a hospital or pediatric healthcare

- Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (CDORA) unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Public school nursing or pediatric healthcare experience
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Initial Special Services School Nurse (ages 0-21) license or must meet the requirements to obtain this license
- Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP)
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
