POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Intern will gain broad, hands-on experience across multiple functional areas of HR through exposure to the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through engagement, development, and offboarding. The intern will support strategic HR initiatives, assist with data analysis and process improvement, and observe core HR functions while contributing tangible value to the organization. This opportunity is ideal for a student who is curious, analytical, people-oriented, and interested in understanding how Human Resources drives business performance through thoughtful systems and strong culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the planning and execution of employee-focused initiatives designed to strengthen engagement, retention, and organizational alignment.
- Research industry best practices and apply findings to support HR program development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Learn CCIG’s history, culture, values, and workforce dynamics to inform HR recommendations and employee experience initiatives.
- Collaborate with fellow interns and cross-functional partners to support engagement activities that foster connection while balancing business priorities.
- Review and analyze survey data; identify trends, draw conclusions, and propose actionable recommendations.
- Provide support for employee training and development initiatives.
- Assist in process administrative efficiency improvements within the HR function.
- Prepare and deliver a final capstone presentation to leadership summarizing internship projects, insights, and recommendations.
- Additional duties as assigned and aligned with intern’s professional pursuits.
KEY PROJECTS AND PLATFORMS:
- Employee Engagement and Retention:
- Research best practices and develop structure around employee stay interview procedures; participate in initiating the program.
- Work collaboratively with fellow intern(s) and HR team to identify and manage workforce-wide engagement activity.
- Review, analyze, and draw conclusions from onboarding and offboarding employe survey data; Identify potential action items and work with the HR team to plan for/carry out most relevant actions.
- Microsoft 365:
- Word: Draft documentation, policies, and project materials.
- Excel: Analyze survey data, support reporting, and perform tracking.
- PowerPoint: Develop a professional final capstone presentation for leadership.
- Forms: Assist with survey creation, data collection, and analysis.
- ADP Workforce Now (HRIS): Gain exposure to HR data systems, reporting tools, and employee lifecycle administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing or within six months of graduation from a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain a curious, learning-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to ask thoughtful, open-ended questions and synthesize qualitative feedback.
- Analytical mindset with comfort reviewing and interpreting data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Interest in employee experience, organizational culture, and aligning the “right person in the right seat.”
- Professional maturity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, use hands to operate a computer, keyboard and other office equipment. The role requires clear verbal and written communication, including use of the telephone, email, and other collaboration tools. Periodic standing, walking, and light lifting or carrying of materials (generally up to 10 pounds) may be required. - Roughly 30 hours per week
- Pay Range (Dependent on experience and/or qualification): $18.81–25/hour
