Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health status by taking vital signs and observing patient conditions
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management
- Provide personal care including assistance with toileting, hygiene, and mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, or autism-specific care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Support residents in community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Document observations accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient progress or concerns
- Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate first aid or CPR when necessary
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or hospice care is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and well-being monitoring
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a caregiving environment
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure resident confidentiality and privacy
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days or evenings as needed
