Job Summary
Monitors and evaluates area JOM Programs, provides technical assistance to school administrators and parent committees, and assists in the development of workshops, conferences and community meetings for JOM administrators, parents and personnel.
Job Duties
Provides technical assistance to local school administrators, JOM personnel and parent committees on all facets of JOM programming in order to effectively assist them in developing and carrying out programs for Indian children which must comply with JOM rules and regulations.Â
Prepares written position papers on new projects to be implemented by the JOM program.Â
Monitors and evaluates local JOM Programs for compliance with their stated project objectives as submitted to the JOM Program.Â
Maintains all JOM field records related to parent meetings, equipment and prepares field reports on JOM programs, inventory listings and other program related matters requiring documentation on assigned schools.Â
Assists schools in preparing accurate data and reports on eligible JOM students.Â
Participates in one summer program annually. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibility is required.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Education or closely related field; no substitutions.
Computer Skills
An individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.Â
Other Qualifications
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Must have knowledge of financial spreadsheets and reports. Prefer knowledge of Cherokee Culture and language. Prefer knowledge of public school operations/policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
