Job Description

Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs is gearing up for an exciting horse racing season and is seeking a seasonal Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! This role plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of horse racing by assisting with the collection of samples for drug testing. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working in a veterinary setting.

NOTE: This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Please note that a positive drug test result, including for marijuana, may result in a job offer being rescinded for applicants or termination of employment for current employees, even if they possess a valid medical marijuana license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the OHRC veterinarian in collecting blood and urine samples from horses.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation within the testing barn.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.
• 6 months of relevant experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
• Valid and current LVT license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and often demanding environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
