Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400 or RF scanners.
- Assist with order picking and packing using various tools including order pickers and mechanical devices to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and maintaining detailed records.
- Handle materials handling tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing inventory storage areas, and preparing products for shipment or manufacturing processes.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently while operating heavy machinery and performing mechanical tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize distribution workflows, improve inventory accuracy, and implement best practices in warehouse management.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers is preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in order picking & packing tasks is required.
- Previous roles involving shipping & receiving or stock management will provide valuable insight into our operational needs.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is appreciated.
