Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Summary: Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures by utilizing a team-based model and performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following:
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Examines patient to determine nature of condition.
- Clean teeth and provides preventive dental services to patient such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth.
- Caps injured teeth and fills cavities.
- Injects painkiller into patient's gum and extracts diseased teeth.
- Designs and makes dentures to replace missing or diseased teeth.
- Educates patient in oral and dental hygiene.
- Develop and maintain appropriate dental records system.
- Develop and implement a consultation and referral system which assures adequate continuity of care to dental patients.
- Promote a team concept of healthcare delivery.
- Provide a variety of professional dental services to the community and clinic patients; administer examinations, diagnose dental problems, prescribe treatment and follow-up.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: Must have obtained either DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school; four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally to clients, coworkers, and members of management.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following types of software: Word processing, Spreadsheet, and Database software. Must be able to utilize EMR systems
Certificates and Licenses: Must be licensed as a Dentist in the state of Tennessee.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will provide clinical direction to Hygienist and Dental Assistant.
