What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/Room Attendant position at Cherokee Grand Hotel?
Clean hotel rooms
- Wears appropriate uniform and name tag
- Thoroughly cleans all guest rooms and areas assigned
- Responsible for proper usage of all supplies and equipment
- Communicates with Housekeeping Department regarding clean and available rooms
- Reports any damage, missing items or maintenance needs in all assigned rooms
- Stocks cart with appropriate linen and supplies in a neat and organized condition
- Responsible for all keys issued and follows all key control policies
- Turns in all lost and found items as according to company policy
- Reports any unusual/suspicious activity immediately
- Ensures that cart is pulled in next to room in front of door
- Does not give out guest room numbers or let guests into rooms
- Utilizes conservation measures such as use of thermostats and lights
- Promotes positive guest and employee relations
- Maintains stockrooms and breakrooms in a neat, clean and organized condition
- Acknowledges guest with a pleasant smile and appropriate greeting
- Prepares necessary work orders for maintenance
- Follows all company policies and procedures
- Performs any other duty as assigned by management
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Lifting required
- Wears closed toe rubber sole shoes
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and wiping
- Stands and walks during majority of shift
- Handles chemical cleaners
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Reliability and honesty essential
- Hotel experience preferred
