MATH INTERVENTIONIST
QUALIFICATIONS: Oklahoma Certificate (required), Minimum 3 years teaching experience, training in elementary mathematics instruction (preferred).

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Math Interventionist works with administrators, classroom teachers, campus support staff and central office instructional and support staff to plan and implement quality mathematical instruction as well as interventions for students in need of support. The Math Interventionist also provides reading and language arts staff development on the campus, evaluates students to determine reading strengths and weaknesses, and plans and implements programming for parent involvement and family reading. Reading programs and design are based on the Science of Reading (SOR).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide targeted instructional support services for students experiencing difficulties in mathematics.
- Evaluate students’ mathematical strengths and areas of need using diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring tools.
- Participate in the development of 504 and IEP plans by recommending appropriate math accommodations and modifications.
- Plan, demonstrate, co-teach, and coach alongside classroom teachers to support effective math instruction and intervention strategies.
- Meet with grade-level teams to support implementation of math curriculum and intervention strategies aligned to standards.
- Serve as a resource for instructional materials, manipulatives, and research-based strategies to support math instruction.
- Present professional development sessions for grade-level teams and campus staff focused on math instruction and intervention best practices.
- Assist administration in identifying campus-wide needs and instructional gaps in mathematics.
- Support teachers in disaggregating and analyzing math assessment data, including diagnostic benchmarks and formative assessments.
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing curriculum-based assessments and instructional plans in mathematics.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to math intervention, instructional strategies, and data-driven instruction.
- Support family engagement opportunities related to mathematics learning and campus math initiatives.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to support students experiencing math difficulties and provide strategies for at-home support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Regular classroom/school environment. Regular office environment, including frequent use of electronic email, being able to sit for long periods of time without a break, etc. Normal effort of occasional periods of moderate physical activity. Work is typically performed in an office environment with some travel to other campuses. Interruptions are expected to occur often. Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to constantly changing technology.
