MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree from an accredited college or university, certification preferred. Successful experience in personal computer operation, troubleshooting and repair; thorough understanding of system components and network concepts. A certification preferred. Thorough understanding of currently released and supported Microsoft Windows operating systems. Ability to successfully install, remove and troubleshoot software applications, peripherals and associated drivers. Knowledge of Active Directory preferred. Ability to consistently demonstrate effective organizational skills, and positive customer service skills. Ability to provide services to local schools regarding the physical unpacking, installation, setup, or removal of technology equipment. Must have a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle operator’s license with endorsements compatible with assigned duties for Cherokee County Board of Education.
GOAL
Assist teachers and administrators with Level 1 technology support.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in resolving technology-based problems among schools, centers and departments.
- Provide technical assistance to K-12 teachers and support personnel on hardware and software to ensure its effective utilization.
- Utilize on-line problem tracking/reporting system.
- Assist in the setup and installation of new technology for both existing and new locations.
- Answer technical questions on data submission and correction, status of computer jobs and procedures for data entry from all designated school locations.
- Review computer operation documentation prior to going into designated schools and recommend any changes to the supervisor.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all technology assets within assigned facilities.
- Assist in the annual State inventory reporting process.
- Assist in the evaluation of new and emerging technologies.
- Manage the removal and relocation of obsolete technology from assigned facilities in accordance with departmental and district policies and procedures.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination polices of the Cherokee County School System.
- Interact effectively with administrators, teachers, staff members, students, parents and the general public using tact and good judgment.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs and meetings to increase skills, knowledge and proficiency related to the assignment.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
- Operate Board-owned vehicle in a safe manner, and assume responsibility for all supplies and equipment on the vehicle.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
