MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree level or higher. Valid Georgia PSC Certificate; Service Certification (S) in School Psychology (P-12). 

 

GOAL

To identify and remediate special learning and/or emotional/behavior problems of students through comprehensive psycho educational assessment and consultation with school staff, parents and students. 

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure delivery of effective and appropriate psychological services to students and collaboration/consultation for parents, staff, and administrators.
  • Ensure that Special Education timelines are met and staff is trained on the requirements.
  • Meet with regularly with School Psychology Zone Contacts and School Psychologists.
  • Provide support and consultation to school psychology staff.
  • Make recommendations regarding School Psychology positions and school assignments.
  • Facilitate Independent Educational Evaluation process.
  • Support Supervisor in completing annual evaluations of Psychologists.
  • Make recommendations for hiring Psychological Services staff, interns, and assist the School Psychology Recruitment and Retention Liaison.
  • Supervise the selection, ordering, and inventory of specialized materials and equipment, including online resources.
  • Supervise development and utilization of the evaluation report and Special Education eligibility forms.
  • Provide support to new school psychologists.
  • Collaborate in the development of department and district-level procedures and initiatives.
  • Member of SEA Team, Special Ed Ad Hoc, and other committees as assigned.
  • Attend Special Ed Leadership meetings.
  • Compile the EOY School Psychologists’ data for the State Report and GCIMP reports.
  • Coordinate contract evaluators when a psychologist is on leave or for caseload management.
  • Develop the budget for the School Psychology Department.
  • Supervise Educational Diagnosticians, including training, procedures, and caseload management/assignments.
  • Monitor and maintain records regarding the bilingual evaluation process.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations, as needed, at the direction of the Executive Director of Special Education or Supervisors.
  • Provide support the CCSD Crisis Team as directed by School Operations.
  • Provide information needed to determine eligibility in the areas of intellectual disabilities.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
