Minimum Qualifications

A valid Georgia Educator certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Bilingual skills required. Ability to work flexible hours including some nights. Proficient in the use of technology (video development, webpage creation, Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to lead family and community events. Skills in communication, leadership, collaboration and organization; strong background in standards-based instruction.

GOAL

Support teachers in improving instruction and achievement for at-risk students by developing and implementing effective strategies. Collaborate with school leadership to execute and monitor the Title I schoolwide plan, focusing on targeted support and strategic short-term actions to raise achievement. Foster family and community engagement by building capacity that enhances academic success, empowering families to actively participate in their child’s education and achievement. Ensure staff compliance with federal regulations through guidance and training.

Representative Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with school staff to analyze student achievement data (state, district, and school) to guide instructional planning and improve teaching and learning.
  • Ensure effective instructional support, aligning with educational standards and using targeted strategies for at-risk students.
  • Provide support to teachers in implementing the standards defined rigor through observations, modeling best practices, goal setting, and debriefs.
  • Work with the principal and the school leadership team for the purpose of developing and implementing professional learning and coaching tools that address the needs of at-risk students.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan and Title I Plan, including monitoring and evaluating the Title I goals and action steps and adjusting as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work cooperatively with school staff and district personnel to provide strategies for learner support.
  • Provide data analysis on student progress and professional learning to evaluate short-term student and teacher goals and to identify areas of need through the Schoolwide plan and Short-term Action Plan.
  • Communicate effectively with families, district and school personnel, and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning.
  • Design and implement standards-based activities for parent and family events in collaboration with the school based on data.
  • Assist parents in understanding state academic standards, assessments, Title I, Part A requirements, how to monitor and improve their child’s progress, and if applicable, attain English proficiency.
  • Develop instructional materials and resources (newsletters, videos, webpage) to support families in working with their children to improve their academic performance.
  • Design information and targeted instructional activities for parents to support students based on needs identified through district data.
  • Design opportunities for parent input and involve them in decision-making processes for parent and family engagement.
  • Support the joint development of the District and School Parent and Family Engagement Plans focused on ongoing communication, strategies for engagement, shared responsibilities, partnerships, and communication.
  • Coordinate the distribution of Title I documents to all families.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff on the value and utility of contributions of parents, how to communicate with and work with parents as equal partners, implementing and coordinating parent programs, and strengthening school-parent ties.
  • Analyze and summarize data to determine parent needs and the effectiveness of programs.
  • Implement budget expenditures, in collaboration with principal, to ensure effective and compliant utilization of funds.
  • Ensure the school’s parent and family engagement program remains in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Support the alignment of resources in instruction, professional learning, and parent engagement to support school goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional growth by engaging in ongoing professional learning that supports Title I initiatives and staying current with evidence-based strategies, including schoolwide reform strategies, literature, and technical information.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit all required documentation and state/local reports accurately and on schedule.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, school board policies, and all applicable Federal/State/District Title I guidance.
  • Exhibit a commitment to professional ethics and the school district’s mission and school’s mission.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and allowable pursuant to applicable grant funding requirements.
