About Us

Cherish develops intelligent radar-based sensor platforms that revolutionize health and safety monitoring wherever people live, work, or play.. Our patented spatial computing technology works ambiently (through the air) without changing how people live and by prioritizing their privacy. We detect emergencies and health and safety risks to bring people timely help so they and their loved ones may live better with more independence, safety, and peace of mind.

We are an experienced and close-knit team of visionaries, business leaders, designers, technologists, creatives, operators, and health and wellness professionals. We are driven by how we care about the people we serve — our loved ones and yours. We show up with urgency daily to create and deliver solutions that will change people’s lives at scale in deeply meaningful ways.

We think and act like a high-energy startup. At the same time, we punch well above our weight. Our sponsors and engineering, manufacturing, and channel partners include multiple Fortune 30 companies and globally leading consumer tech and healthcare organizations with whom we are strongly aligned to move at speed and scale.

Why Work Here?

We're high performers and lifelong learners who enjoy working together, operate with respect and autonomy, and are on a giant mission that matters at a company on a path to an IPO. What more could you ask for?

Role Overview

We’re seeking a hands-on Data Scientist to lead end-to-end Data Curation & Data Analysis (DC/DA) across Cherish’s multi-sensor data ecosystem, focusing primarily on radar (and depth, where applicable). You’ll design scalable data workflows, analysis tooling, and quality frameworks that empower product and engineering teams with high-integrity sensor insights. You’ll work cross-functionally with DSP, ML, and embedded engineers to turn raw radar data into meaningful intelligence that drives Cherish’s core platform.

Your Superpowers

You describe yourself as a self-starting data detective who thrives on being the go-to expert for curation and analysis. You love owning end-to-end processes — diving deep into complex datasets, uncovering hidden patterns, and solving data quality challenges with creativity and rigor. You're collaborative yet independent, bringing a strong sense of ownership and curiosity. You build structure from ambiguity, innovate with purpose, and take pride in delivering reliable, reproducible insights that fuel product and research outcomes. Your superpower is your ability to bridge the gap between raw data and real-world impact. You communicate clearly, move fast, and bring teams together through data-driven storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Data Curation & Data Analysis (DC/DA) efforts across Cherish’s multi-sensor data ecosystem.

• Design and implement robust data pipelines for collecting, processing, cleaning, and structuring raw sensor data (radar and depth).

• Develop automated labeling and data validation frameworks to ensure quality and scalability.

• Build diagnostics and root-cause analysis (RCA) tooling to debug, analyze, and improve system performance.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities across large, complex datasets.

• Collaborate with DSP, ML, and embedded systems engineers to integrate sensor data pipelines into production systems.

• Design and maintain visualization tools and dashboards for tracking data integrity, coverage, and accuracy.

• Continuously monitor and improve data quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.

• Stay current with industry advances in sensor data processing, signal analysis, and data engineering best practices.

• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, influencing product and engineering decisions.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2–8 years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or signal processing.

• Experience with real-world sensor data such as radar and depth cameras. Experience with

complex-valued sensor outputs (e.g., radar) is a big plus.

• Strong proficiency in Python and data science/ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).

• Proven ability to build and maintain data pipelines for real-world signal data (collection, cleaning, transformation, storage).

• Familiarity with signal processing concepts—noise filtering, spectral analysis, feature extraction, datafusion.

• Hands-on experience with data labeling/annotation workflows or automated validation tools.

• Proficient in data visualization (Matplotlib, Plotly, Dash, or similar) for analysis and root-cause analysis (RCA).

• Experience with data versioning, automation, and orchestration (Git, Airflow, Prefect) and cloud compute (GCP/AWS).

• Comfortable working cross-functionally with hardware and software teams, translating data findings into actionable insights.

• A self-starter who loves working directly with data—detail-oriented, curious, and unafraid to dive deep into messy, multi-sensor datasets.

Nice to Have

• Experience with radar visualization (e.g., range-Doppler plots, spectrograms) and complex-valued signal analysis.

Personal Qualities

We’d love you to be self-aware, thoughtful, empathetic, diligent, hard-working, a lifelong learner, and a great team player. You’d show us that you have:

● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability, perhaps even a passion, to build camaraderie and work effectively on difficult goals with a broad range of business and technical collaborators across cultures and skills.

● Self-awareness to know your own superpower (nobody is great at all things) and the humility to permit others to exercise theirs on a team of accomplished specialists

● Respect and empathy to recognize and support the goals of the company, your team, and colleagues in ways that build trust for people to feel safe to “disagree and commit” (The Amazon Way)

● A work ethic that doesn’t quit, that recognizes that time-to-market is often the only thing that separates teams that win from those that don’t (“No matter how hard you work, someone else is working harder.” — Elon Musk)

● Tenacity and a dogged determination to never give up

● Innate hunger to constantly do better and evolve both your work product and yourself (You’re a lifelong learner)

● The courage to move fast, break things, and ship products that people use (“Real artists ship.” — Steve Jobs)

● Exceptional communication skills characterized by meticulous attention to detail and precision in verbal and written expression. Consistently deliver clear, comprehensive, and precise information to ensure all team members are aligned and well-informed. Additionally, articulate the team's efforts and impact on other teams, cultivating close collaboration to achieve company-wide objectives.

Education and Experience

● BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

● Proven track record in shipping system services and performance-critical components in production

● Experience collaborating cross-functionally with embedded/DSP/ML and backend teams
