Dog Care Attendant / Personal Assistant

Loving dogs is great but cleaning up after them is a HUGE job!! We are looking for a part time person to add to our team. (This is a weekend included shift - this is NOT negotiable.)

This job will be perfect for someone who has a great attitude, incredible attention to detail, doesn't mind getting dirty, wants a job with animals, has good time management skills, can work in a fast paced environment, is self motivated, enjoys working with people and learning new things. PLUS - With the recent addition of our K9 rehab center, the right person will be assisting in the rehab/fitness department as well. You must be 18 or older to apply.

This position is for 20-30 hours per week (Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon). The schedule will be consistent with a few extra hours needed on party or event weeks. We are looking for someone who can be reliable, responsible, and follow instruction well. We work ALL major holidays and you will be expected to work them. I do not accept chronic call outs or tardiness. We are a no drama facility and we do our best to make sure the work environment is enjoyable.

We play with 100 pound dogs and we expect them and the staff to be kept safe at all times. While that may sound "simple enough", it certainly is not. This job is VERY physically demanding. Bad backs/bad knees/frozen shoulders/etc will make this work very difficult. Dogs will jump on you, there will be scratches. You will be on your feet the entire shift, and you will be doing a lot of squatting - especially during party/photo shoot days. You will have to do some lifting (up to 50#). Previous dog handling or veterinary experience is preferred but not required. This is a very self lead job so you will need to be able to stay on task and paying attention.

You will be responsible for general cleaning including bathrooms, floors, picking up after dogs, supervising play groups, cleaning, maintaining a clean and stocked lobby, organizing and decorating the lobby for holidays, watering plants, meal prep, personal assistant to the owner, customer service, and various other tasks. Did I mention cleaning..... there is a LOT of cleaning. This job is at least 90% cleaning.
