Cherish Hospice is seeking an experienced Hospice Biller to manage billing operations and ensure accurate, timely claim processing. This role requires strong knowledge of hospice billing regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
Hospice Biller Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently process hospice claims for payment, ensuring compliance with regulations and insurance provider requirements
- Upload Notice of Election (NOE) and Notice of Termination/Revocation (NOTR) to Medicare in accordance with regulatory timelines
- Review and correct billing errors, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring timely follow-up with payers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical information and billing data
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate billing for services rendered
- Stay up-to-date with changes in billing regulations, coding guidelines, and industry standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize billing processes and improve patient outcomes
- 3 years of experience in hospice medical billing
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in medical billing or a related field a plus
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical staff and payers
