Operations Supervisor Position
The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing plant operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving results in key areas such as safety, service, quality, and cost. This position is responsible for overseeing the work of production employees, providing hands-on leadership, and supporting plant administration to ensure compliance with established policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise production employees, focusing on raw and finished goods availability.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to all employees, addressing employee relations issues.
- Support plant administration in maintaining policy compliance.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to achieve cost and yield performance targets, aligning with the overall Plant P&L.
- Drive cost control initiatives and process improvements within the Plant.
- Review operations activities, including local transportation, to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
- Promote Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant.
- Ensure consistent execution of Standard Operating Procedures throughout the Plant.
- Deliver operational best practices and cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and raw material utilization standards.
- Foster teamwork to ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
- In partnership with the Plant Manager, provide leadership to Plant staff, covering recruitment, training, development, evaluation, motivation, delegation, and monitoring of activities.
- Optimize asset utilization through efficient transportation scheduling, dispatch, and driver management, meeting customer expectations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations/Supply Chain or relevant experience in a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is beneficial.
- Strong people management skills, including non-exempt production workforce.
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations.
- Experience in managing safety performance and programs.
- Able to motivate a team and manage people effectively.
