Head of Sales | Remote/Hybrid | Boston-area travel as needed
Cheng & Tsui is seeking a FT energetic, strategic, and hands-on Head of Sales to lead sales execution, strengthen customer relationships, and help shape our next phase of growth. We are an award-winning global publisher of educational materials in Asian languages and cultures for K-12 and higher education. This role is ideal for a sales leader who enjoys strategic planning, building markets, coaching teams, and turning insight into revenue growth.
This is a working leadership role for someone who can balance strategy with execution. You will lead a small sales and customer-facing team, partner closely with Marketing and Product, and contribute to broader commercial strategy, market development, and operational improvement.
What you’ll do
- Lead sales strategy and execution across K-12, higher education, and adjacent markets, both in the US and internationally.
- Drive strong relationships with institutional accounts, distributors, resellers, and other partners.
- Oversee online retail and direct-to-consumer growth in collaboration with internal teams.
- Coach and develop a small sales/customer service team with clear goals and accountability.
- Use sales data, market trends, and customer insights to guide decisions.
- Improve sales operations, workflows, and tools in a lean, cross-functional environment.
- Contribute to collaborative interdepartmental leadership discussions on growth, pricing, market shifts, and new opportunities.
What we’re looking for
- ~10 years of hands-on sales experience, preferably in educational publishing or education.
- Experience working with K-12 and higher education customers in the US.
- 3 years leading or managing a sales or customer-facing team.
- Strong consultative selling skills and comfort working across channels.
- Experience using CRM and sales data to drive action.
- Excellent communication, organizational process, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Interest in education and mission-driven work.
- Familiarity with Asian language education and/or Chinese bilingual ability is a plus.
