Responsibilities
- Supervise the assigned guard force to ensure all operations are executed in accordance with established protocols.
- Report directly to the Security Project Manager (PM) and promptly notify them of any unusual or emergency situations.
- Schedule shift work distribution and training, and address Security Officer (SO) questions related to work.
- Enforce all applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations related to the security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment.
- Ensure company personnel and safety policies are enforced and adhered to in accordance with both GPO and company policy.
- Manage the staffing of posts during the shift to ensure complete coverage, including coverage for vacations, illness, and call-offs.
- Ensure all guards arrive at work in proper uniform and with necessary issued equipment, and conduct Guard Mount operations.
- Enforce all general and special orders for the assigned post.
- Identify and mitigate project security risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Professionally interact and escort public and government personnel as required.
- Provide access control, traffic control, and conduct walking patrol armed security functions.
- Conduct walking, personnel, vehicle, building, and facility checks.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree with a concentration in Security management, criminal justice, or a related field preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Supervisory experience preferably, with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in overseeing and supervising security personnel and programs.
- Possess Strong leadership and team management skills and possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses, certifications.
- Possess the ability to communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to orders.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions and training material.
- Must be able to pass a Personal Security Background and NCIC Check prior to assignment.
- Be able to meet any Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as a Security Guard.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
