Responsibilities
- Protect NASA personnel, facilities, equipment, and property through armed security operations, access control, patrols, inspections, and security screenings.
- Respond to emergencies, enforce applicable laws and regulations, investigate incidents, and take appropriate enforcement actions when required.
- Monitor and control vehicle and pedestrian access, conduct traffic and security operations, and provide professional support to employees, visitors, and government personnel.
- Maintain readiness by following all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and training requirements, while remaining available for emergency response and mission-critical operations.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA certifications, training credentials, and a DoD security clearance.
- Valid driver's license, current First Aid/CPR or BLS certification, and ability to successfully complete physical fitness, psychological, background, and drug screening requirements.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to read, interpret, and apply written policies, procedures, and detailed instructions.)
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
- Two or more years of military law enforcement experience.
- One or more years of armed security officer experience.
- Previous NASA Security Police Officer (SPO) experience.
- Honorably discharged military service (if applicable).
