Responsibilities
- Fill prescription orders
- Answer and screen telephone calls, and take refill requests.
- Help put away drug orders.
- Reconstitute and compound medication orders based on patient care needs and following Service Unit policies and procedures.
- Fill clinic and ward drug supply orders
- Maintain inventory of stock and I.V. bulk solutions
- Prepackage medication into unit-of-dispensing sizes
- Clinic and ward inspections
- Dispense medication refills
- Administer immunizations (certification required)
- Work in a collaborative fashion with the pharmacy team and providers to ensure timely and accurate pharmaceutical services.
- Participate in training and competency activities including: Annual safety and infection control, and other mandatory training as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required.
- 2-4 years of pharmacy technician experience, including clinical support functions.
- Familiarity with IHS pharmacy systems and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
