The Hazmat Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard of the position.
Responsibilities
- Count, sort, or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice.
- Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Store articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material.
- Fill orders or issues supplies from stock.
- Prepare periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Requisition articles to fill incoming orders.
- Compile reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
- May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- May distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- May make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
- May cut stock to site to fill order.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion or ability to complete HAZWOPPER training within 30 days of employment
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others
- Capability to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing program or production requirements within the available resources and with minimum sacrifice to quantity and quality of work
- Knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, and other established guidelines
- Experience with all Microsoft Office products
- Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
- HAZMAT experience preferred.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
