Service Director – Food & Beverage
Location: Private Country Club | Little Rock, Arkansas
Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview
The Service Director is a visible and engaged hospitality leader responsible for ensuring a highly personalized, consistent, and refined food and beverage service experience for members and their guests. This role partners closely with the Executive Chef, Catering Director, and senior leadership to support the club’s strategic objectives while preserving the traditions, culture, and service standards expected in a premier private club.
The successful candidate is a relationship-driven professional who understands the nuances of private club service, anticipates member expectations, and develops service teams that deliver gracious, intuitive hospitality.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Champion a service culture aligned with the club’s mission, values, and long-term vision.
- Serve as a key member of the Food & Beverage leadership team, contributing to strategic and capital planning discussions.
- Evaluate service models and recommend enhancements that elevate the member experience while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on emerging private club trends and best practices.
- Ensures all admin duties and responsibilities of the department are executed timely and consistently.
Member Experience & Engagement
- Maintain a consistent, visible presence in all dining venues and at club events.
- Develop professional relationships with members to understand preferences and expectations.
- Partner with club leadership to monitor satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Handle member concerns with discretion, urgency, and professionalism.
Operational Excellence
- Direct all front-of-house dining operations with a commitment to precision and consistency.
- Ensure service delivery reflects the standards of a premier private club rather than a transactional hospitality model.
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to execute innovative dining programs and signature events.
- Oversee service logistics for high-profile member functions, tournaments, and social events.
Talent Development & Culture
- Develop service professionals who embody hospitality and professionalism.
- Create a structured training culture emphasizing etiquette, product knowledge, wine literacy, and anticipatory service.
- Provide ongoing coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive workplace that supports retention and engagement.
Financial Stewardship
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and operating plans for service departments.
- Manage labor deployment strategically to align with usage patterns while protecting service standards.
- Identify opportunities to enhance revenue through service-driven initiatives and member programming.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adjust operations proactively.
Governance & Collaboration
- Support the General Manager in executing policies and club initiatives.
- Prepare reports and contribute insights for leadership discussions when appropriate.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless delivery of the full club experience.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
- Maintain readiness for inspections and uphold best practices in sanitation and workplace safety.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in private clubs, luxury hospitality, or high-touch service environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of private clubs and member relations.
- Proven success, developing service teams and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Advanced knowledge of dining service standards and beverage programs.
