What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Keeper position at Chena Hot Springs Resort?
Groundskeeper Duties are worked outdoors. These job duties depends on the season. In spring and summer groundskeepers are busy with lawn mowing, camp ground maintenance, setting up tents and stages for summer events and concerts, stocking up firewood for winter activities. In winter groundskeepers stay busy shoveling snow, pulling snow off of the roofs, snow removal of roads and trails and spreading gravel on the ice. Must be prepared in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to lift heavy objects. Must be able to follow directions from the supervisor and manager. Must be able to operate ATV, Snowmobile and small equipment.
- Must lawnmower, weed trimmer, and chainsaw experience
- Cannot be afraid of a shovel, rake, shop broom or of picking up trash
- Must be able to paint and do basic repairs around the resort
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more repeatedly
- Must be able to operate a snow blower to keep the snow from accumulating on walking paths.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with a team or on your own.
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid drivers license.
- Spread gravel over the entirety of the area where guests and employees walk.
- Keep the walking paths clear and safe for guests and customers.
- Use the gravel spreading device to spread gravel safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time, year-round position.
