Position Summary
The Driver plays a key role in the Shipping and Receiving Department, responsible for local deliveries and pickups of ChemResearch products and materials. This position requires safe and efficient operation of company vehicles while maintaining exceptional customer service and compliance with all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate company-owned trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
Perform local deliveries and pickups of ChemResearch products, materials, and ordered inventory items.
Conduct pre-, during-, and post-operation inspections (“user maintenance”) and complete required reports.
Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
Maintain all DOT, OSHA, and company safety certifications and adhere to related programs.
Protect and maintain company property in excellent condition.
Support shipping/receiving operations by assisting with related tasks as needed.
May assist or perform duties of a Shipping/Receiving Clerk when required.
Education and Experience Requirements
Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a truck driver.
Proven ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
Must be able to work in hot weather conditions.
Must be able to sit for extended periods.
Essential Functions
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Work in varying weather conditions (heat and cold).
Alternate between standing and sitting for up to 8 hours.
Maintain 20/20 vision (corrected) and normal hearing.
Distinguish colors (pass a color-blindness test).
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and manual handling.
