About the Job:
As a tooling Technician at ChemResearch, you will play a crucial role in our operations. You will be responsible for creating a variety of tooling and racks for production, fabricating/repairing machine tools, and maintaining industrial tooling. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products to our clients.
Essential Duties:
- Perform preventative tool maintenance and tool repair activities.
- Estimate tool/rack repair times.
- Maintain plastic injection molds and equipment in optimal running condition.
- Order raw materials and keep inventory for ordered parts.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Work independently with strong technical knowledge and good communication skills.
- Read and interpret detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
- Execute tooling/rack requests to drawings, sketches, or part samples when instructed.
- Operate all tool room machinery and equipment and also complete final form, fit, and function of tool repairs.
- Assure proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for all tools.
- Following all Lock-Out / Tag-Out rules and work instructions
- Participate in corresponding root cause analysis, corrective actions, and team problem-solving activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all your assigned work areas.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records of all tool/rack repairs and changes.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
- Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges, and inspection tools.
- Design jigs/fixtures to meet plating applications.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Educational and Work Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of creating and repairing tooling.
- Extensive experience with metalworking tools, including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
- Experience with 3-point axle CNC machinery is preferred.
- Experienced in tooling repair and providing machine support in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Salary : $18 - $25
