A plant process technician monitors and operates production machinery to ensure efficient, high-quality output while adhering to safety regulations. Key duties include operating control room systems, monitoring equipment, collecting product samples for lab testing, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues with production processes. Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a foundation in math and science, are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and Monitor Processes:

Use control room instruments to monitor process conditions and machinery performance to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • Ensure Product Quality:

Make adjustments to the process as needed to maintain desired product quality and consistency.

  • Sample Collection:

Collect samples of products for laboratory testing to verify quality and compliance with specifications.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, diagnose malfunctions, and repair or replace defective parts.

  • Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and regulations, maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

  • Record Keeping:

Maintain logbooks for equipment and production processes, ensuring that all faults are reported to supervisors.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operating control systems, interpreting technical manuals, and performing maintenance.

  • Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve production issues.

  • Communication:

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

  • Attention to Detail:

Meticulous attention to detail for monitoring processes and ensuring quality.

  • Educational Background:

A high school diploma or equivalent is often the starting point, with an associate's degree in process technology or a related field providing further opportunities for career advancement.

  • Physical Stamina:

The ability to work on the production floor and stand for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
