Chemours is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join our growing Health Services team. This position will report directly to the Regional Nurse Manager at our Louisville, KY location.
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will provide nursing treatment of work-related injury and illness and assist in casemanagement for prolonged or complex illnesses / injuries. The Occupational Health Nurse will maintain medical records inaccordance with established guidelines.The Occupational Health Nurse role performs medical screenings such as drug and alcohol, vision,blood pressure, audiograms, respirator exams, and spirometry testing.
The Occupational Health Nurse will ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines. The Occupational Health Nurse will interact with employees, line management, safety, plant management, and health care providers on health and fitness-for-duty issues.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Work independent of daily physician oversight and recognize when the need for consultation with a physician isnecessary
- Implement on-site medical surveillance and drug screening programs
- Implement wellness and prevention programs in conjunction with Occupational Health, Safety, and HumanResources
- Maintain plant-specific current knowledge of local hazards, toxic materials, and relevant emergency medicalcare
- Acute care management : Provide first aid and determine if additional medical treatment isneeded
- Experience & ability to manage emergency caresituations for injuries / illness / incidents : syncope, HTM exposure, chestpain
- Work with site Emergency Responders to prepare patients for off-site transport during medicalemergencies
- Collaborate with EHS regarding medical surveillance and clearance as well as hazard assessments
- Interact with site HR, Safety, PlantManager, and Leave Coordinator
- Case manage Short Term Disability and worker’s compensations cases to support an early return to work and appropriate / timely care
- Liaison between employee and manager regarding health issues / restrictions while maintaining confidential employee medical information
- Work with employees and supervisors for EAPreferrals
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, NIOSH, and HIPAA
