Position Summary
The Pharmacy Operations Technician is a highly skilled, experienced technician who plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations across the pharmacy. This individual serves as a bridge between leadership and frontline staff, helping ensure workflows run smoothly, standards are upheld, and teams are supported in real time. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, adaptability, and a willingness to step into any area of the operation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily pharmacy operations across intake, production, fulfillment, and customer service as needed
- Act as a go-to resource for technicians, providing guidance, training, and real-time problem solving
- Assist in implementing and reinforcing workflows, SOPs, and operational best practices
- Partner with Operations leadership to identify gaps, improve efficiency, and support process improvements
- Step into various functions to maintain workflow continuity during high volume or staffing gaps
- Help onboard and train new technicians to ensure consistency and quality of work
- Monitor work quality and escalate issues or risks to leadership when appropriate
- Support cross-functional coordination between teams to ensure timely and accurate prescription processing
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure as required by state
- 4 years of pharmacy technician experience (compounding experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, workflows, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to work across multiple functions and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills or informal leadership experience
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and ability to support and influence team members
