Under the direct supervision of the Recovery Support Coordinator, the Residential Case Manager will
Provide case management and crisis intervention services for the Recovery House services, sponsored by the Chemical Abuse Services Agency, Inc. The purpose of this program is to offer services that will prevent formally homeless and disabled individuals from becoming homeless again, to work with residents to improve their quality of life, to help create a positive residential community living environment and to support residents in the process to ensure permanent housing. This will be a highly collaborative model of support services focusing on linking residents to community mental health, substance abuse, medical resources, and developing vocational programming. Thus, maintaining community relationships and working collaboratively is an integral element of this position.
Requirements
- Associates degree with emphasis on Human Services/Social work
- 2 years’ case management experience preferable in clinical/social service environment or experience working directly with clients with multiple diagnoses.
- Experience working with homeless populations, special needs populations with histories of mental illness and/or substance abuse.
- Familiarity with the physiological, psychological, social, and economic effects of homelessness and disabilities.
- Knowledge of community resources and levels of service programs available to the disabled and homeless population.
- Must demonstrate appreciation and willingness to develop continuing skills towards multicultural competency within a behavioral health setting.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) speaking required.
- Must be a growth-oriented person willing to set and work toward professional goals.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle.
