We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position includes work both in the field and at our Dublin shop location.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment, paving equipment, and Class 8 vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment servicing.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
- Read and interpret equipment schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
- Service and repair both gas and diesel-powered equipment.
- Complete repairs and maintenance in both field and shop environments.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with minimizing equipment downtime.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Experience working on heavy construction equipment, paving equipment, and Class 8 vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics and technical manuals.
- Experience servicing and repairing gas and diesel engines.
- Valid driver's license required (Ohio driver's license preferred).
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
- Must possess the tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends with advance notice.
- High school diploma, GED, or technical training preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This position requires work in both shop and outdoor field environments. Employees must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Work extended hours, including occasional weekends, when business needs require.
Travel
- Travel to and from local job sites is required.
- Company vehicle provided for work-related travel.
