What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Technician position at CHEManager International?
The primary function of this role is to use training in biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, or a closely related field to design and execute experiments related to a research project in the lab investigating mechanisms of tumor resistance to radiation therapy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary experimental therapeutic group with a focus on translational research with a direct application to clinical research questions. The project will be investigating the effect of tumor metabolism on tumor cell and microenvironment mediated resistance to radiation therapy.
Primary duties include collecting and assembling of data for oral and written presentation. Developing scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory. Designing experiments to test hypotheses with input from PI, using techniques of molecular biology and biochemistry, including western blotting, qRT-PCR, molecular cloning, tissue culture, and flow cytometry. Analyzing results. Performing survival surgeries on mice and maintaining mouse colonies. Performing routine and more difficult procedures
