Essential Job Functions
- Training of undergraduates and graduate students.
- Design and implement studies to achieve the goals of the project.
- Present the scientific findings the academia and the industry.
- Educate the public and stakeholders.
- Help the principal investigator (PI) in the daily operation and effort, in seeking funding support from both internal and extramural sources.
- Ph.D. degree in Microbiology or a related area is required.
- Experience in water microbiology is required.
- Experience in plant pathology is a plus.
- Experience in molecular biology/bioinformatics is preferred.
- knowledge and skills in microbial source tracking.
- Knowledge and skills in molecular biology.
- Ability to perform research independently.
- Ability to develop a research proposal and grant application.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods.

All grant-funded positions are contingent upon receipt of funding specifically for that purpose. Note that grant funding positions terminate upon:
- completion of the term of the grant
- early termination of the grant by Lincoln University or the funding agency
- exhaustion of the available funding for the position provided for under that grant, whichever occurs first.
