The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking a motivated Postdoc Research Associate to join Dr. Dravid's lab.

This role will contribute to groundbreaking research uncovering how glutamate receptors influence neurological conditions for chronic pain, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
Candidates with experience in cellular electrophysiology, receptor neuropharmacology and drug discovery, and protein biochemistry and structural biology will be well-suited for this role.
You'll apply your specialized skills using advanced genetic mouse models and techniques like confocal imaging, brain-slice electrophysiology, in vivo methods, molecular biology, and behavioral assays. Required Education And Experience
- Appropriate PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related areas.
- Expertise in electrophysiology, drug discovery, or protein biochemistry and structural biology techniques are encouraged to apply.
Conduct Experiments
- Responsible for conducting experiments to address the role of glutamate receptors in the central nervous system using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Performs various techniques such as electrophysiology, in vivo manipulations, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, drug discovery and behavioral analysis.
- Uses electrophysiology, molecular biology, and drug discovery to answer the research questions.
- Compile reports for publication and funded or future grant applications.
- Publishes research findings in peer reviewed journals.
- Other duties as assigned.
