Job Description
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Performs variety of routine and advanced laboratory tests and procedures for use in diagnosis. Serves as clinical resource for trainees, MLTs, and postgraduate physicians.
Required
Education & Credentials:
Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program. MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent (AMT) must be completed within six months of employment date. Proficiency in all areas of the laboratory.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field. MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification or equivalent (AMT) must be completed within six months of employment date. Proficiency in all areas of the laboratory.
Work Experience:
Required
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
