Required Education And Experience
- Appropriate PhD and relevant professional research experience
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Experience with bacterial pathogens.
- Conducts independent research that applies molecular biological principles to elucidate biological mechanisms and/or discover novel interventions for treating human or animal disease, especially infectious diseases.
- Experiments will exploit microbiologic and immunologic approaches.
- Analyzes data, prepares statistical analyses, and summarizes data for use in submission to journals and other scientific publications or grant applications.
- Performs computer data entry and analysis using statistical software.
- Writes, submits and publishes manuscripts in high impact journals as well as presenting research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
- Mentors trainees in the laboratory, ensure proper research compliance and Biosafety practices are followed.
- Trains other research support staff and provides oversight for the management of laboratory functions such as safety issues, inventory, ordering supplies and equipment, and general lab cleanup as appropriate.
