Role Description The Fleet and Equipment Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Joaquin, CA. This role is responsible for coordinating the daily use, scheduling, and availability of company vehicles, trailers, and equipment to support field operations. The coordinator tracks maintenance schedules, arranges repairs, conducts regular inspections, and ensures that all equipment is safe, compliant, and properly documented. Daily tasks include maintaining asset records, monitoring fuel usage, assisting with equipment assignments, and collaborating with field supervisors to prioritize equipment needs. The role also supports inventory tracking of parts and supplies, assists with vendor communication, and helps develop and enforce fleet and equipment policies to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience coordinating fleets, equipment, or similar assets, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking usage.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and routine maintenance practices for vehicles and small to medium equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, and inventory related to equipment, inspections, and service history.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and deadlines.
- Clear and professional communication skills to work effectively with field teams, vendors, and management.
- Comfort using spreadsheets, maintenance or fleet software, and basic office tools for reporting and documentation.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to company procedures and relevant regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to operate company vehicles as needed.
- Previous experience in landscaping, vegetation management, construction, or related field operations is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
