What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic: Part-Time position at Cheltenham Township?
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced life support (ALS) to patients in emergency situations.
- Handle first-aid equipment, vehicle controls, and patient(s).
- Completes equipment and vehicle checks and maintenance to maintain vehicle readiness.
- Charting and documentation of all patient contacts.
- Performs housekeeping functions as assigned to maintain a clean and healthy condition of the building and garage areas.
- Performs other related functions as required and assigned.
- Necessary Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid PA Driver’s License
- Understand and follow verbal instruction
- React calmly and rationally in emergency situations
- 911 experience preferred, not required
- Ability to make decisions quickly
- State Certified EVOC Course
- Work closely with others
- Must have Montgomery County Medical Command Status or obtain in three (3) months
- Certified PA Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Certification
- Certified in Red Cross or Heart Association CPR Basic Life Support
- Current ACLS & PALS, NIMS 100 & 700
