Shore Educational Collaborative has an immediate opening for a school year Paraprofessional position in a new therapuetic elementary school class in Cambridge. Excellent benefits, paid time off, and competitive wages provided.
This position is for the 26/27 School Year.
Shore Educational Collaborative's therapuetic elementary school programs provide educational support and clinical services to students with learning disabilities, as well as behavioral and social/emotional challenges.
Pay range is $25.29hr to $40.35hr depending on experience and education background.
Job Description:
Our Paraprofessionals support our special education teachers in meeting the diverse needs of students with a range of disabilities. They are required to assist in classroom modifications, provide personal care of students, communicate other staff members, provide structure and feedback, and other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide daily instruction and programming under the supervision of the Classroom Teacher.
- Assist in all aspects of daily living skills including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and meal programs.
- Collect and records data on students’ progress/behavior.
- Assist teaching staff in preparation of reports.
- Attend all professional development programs as identified by Administration.
- Participate in the development of overall program curriculum as requested.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a learning environment designed to meet the needs of all students.
- Construct and prepare instructional materials where appropriate.
- Supervise students in all educational settings.
- Ensure student and staff safety.
- Assist program staff in implementation of all aspects of the established behavior management system, to include responding to students during classes, monitoring and setting limits on behavior during breaks, and monitoring and assisting students who are dysregulated, including appropriate physical management if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Summer employment is possible, but is not required.

All school staff who may be expected to manage behavior must obtain and maintain certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent). These skills are essential to ensuring the safety of all program participants and staff, and to meet state and federal requirements related to the safe implementation of behavior intervention plans.
