What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Chelsea Public School?
First Branch Unified District serves students in Tunbridge and Chelsea in grades PreK–8. We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Chelsea campus (serving grades 5–8 and preschool) for the 2026–2027 school year, beginning July 1.
This role reports to the principal and supports all functions necessary for a smooth and efficient school day. Our Administrative Assistant is a critical part of our community and is often the first person families interact with when engaging with the school.
Responsibilities include managing daily school-wide attendance, answering phone calls and emails, maintaining files, ordering supplies, and assisting with substitute teacher coordination.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum High School degree
Strong computer skills in the areas of ALMA, google suite, and website support
Strong organizational and communication skills
Dynamic in-personal skills
Creating and maintaining student files and records
Utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other desktop programs to organize, create, and manage academic information
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in interacting with students, faculty, and staff
Value flexible thinking, problem solving, collaboration with colleagues, and a commitment to every student can learn
Fulfill critical team roles such as emergency response.
