The Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre waterfront sports village located between 17th and 23rd Streets along Manhattan's Hudson River. Chelsea Piers opened in 1995, transforming four historic, but long-neglected, piers into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Situated on Piers 59, 60, and 61 and in the headhouse that connects them, the Complex features the following sports and entertainment venues: The Golf Club, Chelsea Piers Fitness, Sky Rink, The Field House, Bowlero, Pier Sixty, The Lighthouse, and Current.
Chelsea Piers Sky Rink is looking for a Front Desk Associate who is reliable, eager, and friendly. This person will handle the day-to-day operations of the Front Office through clear communication, programming knowledge, and exceptional customer service. This person must have weekend availability and also work weekday afternoons.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service through customer communication, appearance, name tag, and proper approved uniform
- Be on time and prepared to work at the start of the scheduled shift
- Answer phones at the front desk and direct calls to appropriate departments
- Greet customers coming in and say goodbye on the way out
- Direct customers to their desired programs and events
- Help customers book first time lessons
- Take attendance for drop-in programming as required to ensure all customers have paid
- Maintain clean workspaces
- Working knowledge of POS system for all sales types, cash and credit
- Efficiently process payments made at the Front Desk
- Working knowledge of rink management software relating to customer accounts and daily rink schedule
- Understanding of opening and closing drawer procedures
- Other business-related duties deemed necessary by Controller and Front Desk Manager
- Must have superior customer service skills
- Must be an enthusiastic team player
- Must have a strong attention to detail and be well organized
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must enjoy working in an active, team environment
- Must be able to multitask during high activity times
- Prior cashier and customer service experience a plus
Hours & Availability
- The part-time schedule for this role is: Monday 11am-6pm, Thursday 11am-5:30pm, Saturday 8am-4pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm
