The Opportunity
As a Hospitality Associate, you will be one of the first points of contact for our members and guests and play an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and positive Chelsea Piers experience.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, communicates well, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will assist members and guests with questions, transactions, bookings, account needs, and general facility information while delivering a high level of hospitality at every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist members, guests, and visitors.
- Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service.
- Proactively identify customer needs and provide accurate information and assistance.
- Develop a strong understanding of Chelsea Piers programs, services, schedules, facility hours, and availability.
- Process point-of-sale transactions, registrations, and drop-in session bookings accurately.
- Assist with basic account questions and direct more complex inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Answer phone calls and respond to or direct inquiries regarding memberships, sports programs, events, drop-in sessions, and other Chelsea Piers offerings.
- Provide directions and information regarding Chelsea Piers facilities, restaurants, tenants, and other on-site businesses.
- Rotate between Hospitality desks throughout the facility as needed.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional front desk environment.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to help resolve customer questions and concerns.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow Chelsea Piers uniform and name badge standards.
- Support teammates and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
Schedule: Part-Time, early morning, evening, and weekend shifts available
Compensation: $17 - $18 per hour, depending on experience

- At least one year of customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in hospitality, recreation, fitness, retail, or another customer-facing environment is a plus.
- Strong customer service mindset and a genuine interest in helping others.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional phone and email etiquette.
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to learn new systems, programs, and information quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed when handling customer concerns.
