Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent with a strong background in commercial renovation and tenant improvement projects. This role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to manage tight schedules, and experience working in active/occupied environments while maintaining safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site activities for commercial renovation and TI projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries in logistically constrained environments
- Manage work in occupied buildings, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and operations
- Enforce strict jobsite safety standards (OSHA compliance), especially in active facilities
- Maintain and drive aggressive project schedules and phased work plans
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs for quality control and code compliance
- Read and interpret plans, specs, and as-built conditions (often evolving in renovation work)
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and change orders
- Maintain detailed daily logs, reports, and progress tracking
- Collaborate closely with project managers, property managers, and clients
- Ensure proper site cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation
Qualifications
- 5 years experience as a Superintendent, with a strong focus on commercial renovations or tenant improvements
- Proven experience managing fast-track, multi-phase interior projects
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination in renovation settings
- Ability to adapt to unforeseen site conditions and evolving scopes
- Excellent leadership, scheduling, and subcontractor management skills
- Strong communication skills, especially when working with clients and occupied spaces
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and field conditions
- Proficiency with construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk, MS Project)
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with retail, office, healthcare, or hospitality renovations
- Experience working in night/weekend shifts or phased scheduling
- Strong background in punch list completion and project closeout
