Position Overview
CVDA is seeking a dynamic, reliable, and safety-conscious Acrobatics Instructor to join our dance studio team. This position involves teaching acrobatics classes for students ages 3–18, integrating tumbling and flexibility training with dance technique to enhance performance skills. The ideal candidate is experienced in acro or gymnastics and passionate about helping dancers build strength, control, and confidence in a positive studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach age-appropriate acrobatics classes for recreational and competitive dance students
- Instruct foundational through advanced skills including flexibility, balance, limbering, walkovers, aerials, handsprings, and tumbling passes
- Safely spot and progress students according to ability level
- Integrate acrobatic technique with dance choreography and performance skills
- Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and studio performances
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with studio directors and dance faculty to support student development
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents when needed
- Maintain studio equipment and uphold safety standards
Qualifications
- Background in acrobatics, gymnastics, tumbling, or competitive acro
- Experience working with children and teens in a structured class environment
- Strong understanding of safe spotting techniques and skill progressions
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a dance studio environment
- Competitive coaching experience
- Knowledge of Acrobatic Arts or similar acro syllabi
- Ability to choreograph or clean acro sections within dance routines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate skills and provide hands-on spotting
- Ability to lift or assist students safely
- Stamina to teach multiple classes consecutively
Schedule
- Afternoon, evening, and/or weekend availability required
- Part-time position
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
