What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator - Production position at Chegar Rack Manufacturing?
Chegar Rack & Metal Manufacturing Co. is seeking a dependable, motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our growing team. This is a hybrid production position where you'll learn multiple areas of our manufacturing process, including welding, fabrication, press brake operation, grinding, finishing, and final trim. If you enjoy building things with your hands and want to expand your skills, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld carbon steel and stainless steel components
- Read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Operate press brakes and assist with forming parts
- Grind, deburr, and finish fabricated components
- Assist with trimming, final assembly, and quality inspections
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead hoists, and other shop equipment (training provided)
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Cross-train throughout the shop to support production needs
Qualifications
- Welding or fabrication experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Dependable attendance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Blueprint reading is a plus

Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Overtime available as needed
