Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items meet quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Handle cashier duties including cash handling, processing payments, and giving correct change with precision.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales through friendly recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and adhering to food handling protocols.
- Support back of house operations by assisting with food prep, stocking supplies, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
- Ensure quick service delivery by managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment like a quick service or fast food restaurant.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service or retail environments, preferably within a café or restaurant setting.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment supporting both front of house and back of house operations.
- Previous experience in cashiering, serving, bussing tables or kitchen support is highly desirable for success in this role.
