Key Responsibilities
· Oversee daily operations of three maintenance shop locations
· Provide leadership and support to Shop Managers and technicians
· Fill in for Shop Managers during vacations or absences to ensure continuity
· Coordinate vacation coverage planning across all shop locations
· Audit, review, and close work orders for accuracy and completeness
· Manage and maintain profit and loss (P&L) statements for all shop operations
· Oversee timesheet approvals and employee time-off requests
· Develop equipment needs projections and budget planning
· Facilitate the sale of surplus or retired equipment
· Interview, hire, and onboard qualified mechanics and technicians
· Administer disciplinary actions and terminations as needed
· Support Shop Managers in performance management and employee relations
· Develop and implement technician training programs
· Plan and coordinate ongoing education and skill development
· Identify gaps in technical skills and ensure training aligns with operational needs
· Purchase and manage shop tools, equipment, and supplies
· Ensure all locations are properly equipped to operate efficiently
· Maintain accurate inventory and lifecycle management of tools and assets
· Serve as a point of contact for customers, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction
· Build and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers
· Ensure quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of outsourced services
Qualifications
· Proven experience in maintenance or fleet management, preferably across multiple locations
· Strong understanding of financial management, including P&L oversight
· Experience managing teams, including hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions
· Knowledge of equipment maintenance, shop operations, and safety practices
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and locations effectively
