Position summary: The Molding Maintenance Technician is responsible for complex mold maintenance, must be able to perform a wide range of tool room operations connected with the maintenance, repair and alteration of molds and injection molding equipment.The successful candidate must be able to multitask in a diversified work environment, should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of ‘hands-on’ injection mold maintenance and similar experience dealing in plastic polymers.Qualifications required:Must have a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environmentAbility to use tool room equipment such as grinders and mills a plusMust be capable of working on molds handling/fitting tight tolerance partsMust be able to comprehend part and tool printsInjection molds dis-assembly/assembly and perform general mold maintenanceSelf-motivated, good organizational skills, team playerMust be able to follow safety guidelines on the production floorTroubleshoot, Diagnose, and repair tooling problems on the production floor, identify and implement tooling improvements2 years of hands-on work experience in Injection Molding Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO 9001:2008 certified companyEssential functions and responsibilities:Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvementRepairs and re-builds injection molds by arranging for welding and rework, machining, polishing, and finishing to required surface finishFits and assembles parts and tests completed molds for proper operationVerify conformance of repaired injection molds or related tooling to specification by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments using various test equipment, consistently working to close tolerancesAbility to read and understand mold drawings * Recommend mold design changesOperates crane to remove and/or relocate molds to specific workstations/areasProvides general maintenance and cleanup of all Tool room equipmentParticipates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an on-going basisProficient in written and verbal communication skillsRespond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutionsMaintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practicesAssist the SR Molding Maintenance Technician in implementing and managing all maintenance functions,Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systemsReport on any potential food safety, legality, quality, or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnelFollow all documented Good Manufacturing PracticesMust follow all company policies and procedures Non-essential skills and experience:Other duties as required Success factors/job competencies:Report to work on scheduled days on timeMust be able to change the schedule to meet the needs of production and engineeringAbility to work with little supervisionGood attitudeWillingness to ascertain new skillsPhysical demands and work environment:Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
