Duties
- Design and teach dynamic cheerleading routines that incorporate dance, stunts, tumbling, jumps, and formations suitable for different age groups and skill levels.
- Lead practice sessions focusing on technique development, teamwork, and safety procedures to prevent injuries.
- Foster a motivating environment that encourages students to push their limits while maintaining discipline and respect.
- Incorporate elements of physical fitness such as strength training, flexibility exercises, and conditioning to enhance performance.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior among team members.
- Organize team events, competitions, and performances to showcase skills and build team camaraderie.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards related to cheerleading stunts, tumbling, and physical training.
- Collaborate with school staff or community program coordinators to coordinate schedules, uniforms, equipment maintenance, and event logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, injury reports, and safety inspections.
Experience
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education with a focus on cheerleading or related activities such as gymnastics or dance.
- Background in cheerleading techniques including stunting, tumbling (gymnastics), jumps (dance), and choreography.
- Experience working with children or students in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to motivate diverse groups of students while maintaining high energy levels throughout practices and performances.
