Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of sales associates through effective training, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and resolve issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Manage cash handling, POS transactions, and cashiering duties accurately during shifts
- Implement marketing strategies and promotional displays to boost sales and enhance store appearance
- Coordinate shift schedules, monitor employee orientation, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Assist with purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and budgeting to meet financial targets
Experience
- Proven supervisory or assistant management experience within retail or grocery environments
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in retail math, POS systems, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
- Experience with recruiting, training & development, employee orientation, and performance evaluations
- Knowledge of merchandising, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and store presentation techniques
- Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping basics, budgeting, and administrative tasks
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on time management and operational efficiency
